Are Artists Also Beacons?

Writer's picture: Tracy EireTracy Eire

In the vibrant world of Studio Eclipse -- an online art collective I’m thrilled to be a part of by the way -- we art does more than just decorate a space (though that's already enough)!

An artist can ignite change and infuse hope into the lives of anyone who encounters their work. At Studio Eclipse, we don’t just create and auction art, we send out big, bright beacons of light destined to find their perfect person.

For real.

But you’ve probably felt it too—the way a piece of art can suddenly draw you out of the shadows and clear your mind? No more cobwebs? But more hope? Okay, fine. I'll show you what I mean.

  1. Ever needed a way out?

In these challenging times, art stands as a beacon of hope, untouched by the flood of digital noise. Take, for instance, the haunting works of Svala. Her wolves, ghostly figures against a winter backdrop, not only highlight the plight of these misunderstood predators but also remind us of our capacity for change. Wolves, largely demonized and confined to only a fraction of their former range, evoke our empathy and action through Svala’s canvas. Her art cries out for resilience and for a future where both beauty and beasts like cheetahs, tigers, and wolves have a fighting chance.

Wolves or ghosts? Eventually, you will decide.

  1. Did you know you could heal?

The healing power of art is profound and palpable. Artists like Ingrid Tusell and Iva Kunciak capture serene, introspective moments free from the chaos of modern life—moments that mend the soul. Ingrid’s depictions of women and children are a soothing balm, while Iva’s work sparks wonder, a crucial step toward healing and change.

  2. Have you come to your senses before?

Artists wield their brushes as tools of awareness and catalysts for change. Svala’s wildlife portraits are a wake-up call to preserve the natural world. Meanwhile, a recent piece by me, Tracy Eire, carried a poignant message about embracing the outsider. The lines written on the back begin, "If I seem a little distant / understand / I was born in the cold" and they serve as a powerful reminder that a cold world doesn't mean a cold heart. The painting challenges people to view the seemingly unfamiliar with empathy and acceptance.

A message for people with different minds.

  1. Do you still feel joy out there?

Every artist at Studio Eclipse brings joy and encourages self-discovery. There's not one who doesn't qualify for this! From Brynn Elizabeth’s enchanting sirens to Nalisa’s pop art delights, and Lioba Bruckner’s serene Inari women, each work invites viewers to rediscover moments of joy and introspection. These artists turn everyday experiences into opportunities for personal growth and delight.

Oxford Languages has beacon down as "a fire or light set up in a high or prominent position as a warning, signal, or celebration". Art gives us all three.

Studio Eclipse knows this. It's more than an art collective, it’s a community that spans the globe. We know connection is more important than ever, here, in a world that often feels fragmented and isolated.

That's why we’re committed to shining a light through the darkness with every piece of art we send into the world. We believe in the power of art to heal, connect, and inspire. We have the combination of artistic experience and fresh eyes to make every stroke of the brush your step towards a brighter world. And thanks. We’re honored to share this journey with you. :)
