Lions & Yellowcake

Jennifer, the artist of Lions & Yellowcake, grew up in circumstances that left little to communicate, but instead had her valuing the variety in which human beings could create.

After experimenting with many methods and mediums since she began in 2006 the work of Frank Frazetta, Alphonse Mucha, Lisa Frank, Mr Rogers, and Carl Sagan continued to push her to develop something beyond her technical realism beginnings.

She was always enchanted by fairytales and myths and how the bonds of human, animal, and earth were connected through love and respect. She had longed for those connections during the very opposite realities of her childhood, and so she endeavored to create them herself.

Jennifer’s hope now is that in each piece she creates, she is able to remind someone of the intrinsic value of this opportunity we have to exist amongst one another, and perhaps inspire you to "wonder" at your own connection with the bird on your porch, or the next stranger on the street, and remember that "we are a way for the universe to know itself" (Sagan).
